Usher 'was self-centred at 17'

Usher has admitted that when he was 17 years old he was very self-centred.

The singer revealed on MTV’s When I Was 17 that his favourite rapper was the Notorious B.I.G. and that he had an obsession with the Jim Carrey comedy Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, reports Rap-Up.

The 31-year-old also claimed that Jermaine Dupri was responsible for developing his abdominal muscles.

MTV execs recently promised that Usher's Video Music Awards performance will be "the best" in the history of the show.

The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards airs tonight on MTV.
