The physician told OK that he is convinced the Machete star is committed to staying sober after completing a stay in UCLA Medical Centre.
"Yes, I think she has finally made the right turn," he said. "I am very hopeful that she gets a lot of help and a lot of work."
Pinsky added that parents of teenagers should view Lohan's struggles as a cautionary tale when trying to keep their own children away from drugs and alcohol.
He noted: "You look at the behaviour of young Hollywood and start seeing judgement and disdain and that's not a very healthy outlook… Focus on your own kids and talk to them about what they are watching out there."
Lohan was released from a court-mandated rehab last month after serving more than three weeks in the facility due to a probation violation.
