The stars who said “no" to Elton’s party

Countless celebrity faces were among Elton John’s 700 reception guests, but many other big names turned down an invite.
Prince Charles and Camilla, Tony and Cherie Blair and Bill and Hillary Clinton were all invited, says the Daily Mirror, but failed to show.
Last night, a friend of Elton said: "Although Elton had said that he wanted his reception to be low key, he invited almost every famous name you can think of," a friend told the paper. “The original list was extraordinary.
"Invites went to Downing Street, Clarence House and Hollywood, but the Prime Minister, Prince Charles and a large number of celebrities declined. They said they had previous work commitments and for some of them there just wasn't enough notice."
Among many others, apologies also came from Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, Kate Winslet, David Bowie, Kate Moss, Jude Law and Sienna Miller.
