Rimes ex 'was content with marriage'

LeAnn Rimes's ex-husband Dean Sheremet has responded to comments made by the singer in which she claimed that she was "unfulfilled" with their marriage.

Talking to US Weekly, Sheremet insisted that the relationship between the couple was happy and going well before Rimes cheated on him with Eddie Cibrian.

"Age had very little to do with why we got divorced. I was very content and satisfied," he explained.

"I put myself on hold to funnel all my creative energy into her career and our marriage. I was willing to make the sacrifices necessary to have a successful marriage and further her career. I knew, and know, her better than anyone in this world."

Of what it felt like to hear that Rimes had been unfaithful, he added: "I was blindsided and shocked that she of all people would do this to the closest person in her life."
