Naked Hawkins cover nominated for award

The magazine cover that featured a naked image of Jennifer Hawkins could win an award.

The nude photograph, which caused controversy when it graced the cover of Marie Claire magazine earlier this year, has been included in the list of Australia's best covers at The Maggies.

According to AAP, the shortlist was selected by a panel of judges including Ita Buttrose, Lisa Wilkinson and Robyn Foyster.

The issue featuring Hawkins's picture was designed to promote positive body image in women, but some people criticised the magazine for using a supermodel who did not represent the average Australian woman.
