Martha Stewart 'wasn't drunk on Twitter'

Martha Stewart has insisted that she was not drunk while posting a series of misspelled Twitter comments.

The 69-year-old logged several random entries on the social networking site on Tuesday which caused speculation that she had been drinking because of extensive typos.

"I really want to know if you are finding our new tv programming on hallmark. Let $e know (sic)," she wrote in regards to her daughter Alexis's new show on Hallmark.

"Forgive the typo!!$ odd how that happens but tweeting on a blackberry in the dark is difficult the programmes start at 10 am e, 9 am central."

After being asked by followers whether she had been drinking, Stewart replied: "I am not drunk. Just curious if I can get some action going on Twitter time to write my editor's letter now."
