Stars come and stars go, but few have the enduring longevity of Birmingham's favourite daughter Toyah Willcox. She first came to the attention of the world as a young punk in Derek Jarman's iconic Jubilee in 1977 and bagsied even more cult points two years later with a role in Quadrophenia. She then fronted the niftily-titled new wave group Toyah (their highlight was the live album Toyah! Toyah! Toyah!), winning the 'Best Female Singer' gong at Brits precursor the British Rock and Pop Awards in 1982.
She's rarely been away since, acting in everything from Quatermass to Secret Diary Of A Call Girl and popping up on our screens every few minutes as herself. In recent years, she's clocked up credits in a number of reality TV programmes and gameshows; she's showed off rock husband Robert Fripp in Celebrity Brides Unveiled, braved the jungle in I'm A Celeb... and boasted her smarts and culinary skills on sleb specials of Mastermind and Ready Steady Cook. Somehow, she still squeezes in the time to give those famous vocal chords a workout, and currently fronts new group The Humans.
