Heather Locklear files for name change

It has been reported that Heather Locklear has officially filed for a legal name change.

According to TMZ, the actress filed documents in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Friday to change her name from Heather Deen Sambora to Heather Locklear. Although she is publicly known as Heather Locklear, her legal last name is still Sambora.

Locklear was married to Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora for 12 years. They divorced in 2006.

Locklear is said to be seeking an immediate name change. According to the court documents, she needs to change her name before she travels abroad in late October.
