Chris Martin has admitted that he finds inspiration in his shower.

The Coldplay frontman now spends extra time in the bathroom and has even bought a waterproof tape recorder so that his creative moments are captured for later.

"It's good for the voice and singing in the shower is an age-old past time of mine," he told the Daily Star. "Where better to come up with melodies?"

A friend added, "Chris loves singing in the shower anyway, but it's particularly good for his voice as the steam helps his vocal cords relax. He'll often have a shower just before he goes on stage because it helps him hit the high notes.

"But over the past month he's hit a hot streak and got down the main parts to three or four new songs in the shower."
