Miss Dynamite charged with assault

Miss Dynamite has been charged with punching a police officer and disorderly conduct.

The Mercury Music Prize-winner allegedly punched a policewoman who had seen her kicking the door of a London nightclub.

Dynamite, real name Niomi McLean Daley, was celebrating her twenty-fifth birthday at the Paragon Lounge nightclub, Hanover Street, in west London. She was apparently abusive to officers who questioned her.

The singer has been told to appear at appear at Bow Street Magistrates' Court on Friday along with her brother, Kingsley Daley, 22, who is charged with obstruction of police, and Carlene Godwin, 24, charged with a public order offence.
