Ledger: My family means more than Oscar

A reformed Heath Ledger has said his family means more to him than getting an Oscar.

Though he denied accusations of spitting at a photographer, the 26-year-old has admitted he has been "out of line" in the past.

The actor now wants to settle into family life with girlfriend Michelle Williams and baby daughter Matilda.

Of the spitting allegations, he commented: "It's disgusting and awful. I would never in a million years do anything like that." He continued: "I'm trying to get by back here and live a nice, polite life with my family,"

Family life has also put the possibility of winning an Oscar for his role in Brokeback Mountain into perspective. "It's funny, when you have a beautiful new child and your life takes on such a different meaning, those sort of things don't matter so much."
