Alexa Chung: 'My look is quite preppy'

Alexa Chung has described her fashion sense as "preppy".

The Frock Me host told Heat that she usually takes around 20 minutes to get ready in the morning as tends to put on "trousers and whatever I've been wearing in bed".

Chung said: "I guess my look is generally quite preppy. Schoolgirl meets grandma and a skanky older brother!

"Fashion changes so fast. I like classic things - blazers, cable-knit jumpers and preppy college scarves. I'm a stud kind of girl, and I love leopard-print. But not fur. I don't wear fur."

Asked what it is like to be a style icon, Chung replied: "If you're in the middle of something, it's difficult to see it clearly. I don't have any idea of what I look like from the outside."

Last year, Chung was named Vogue magazine's 'Best Dressed' woman of 2009.
