The Today Show weatherman plans to participate in the 26-mile marathon on November 7.
"I think he's a little nervous, but he's so ready," said his partner Deborah Roberts.
Speaking to People, she added that Roker has been practising with a trainer and ran 20 miles last weekend.
Roker, who shed 115 pounds after a gastric bypass surgery, said that he doesn't enjoy running and is still working to achieve his "runner's high".
"Somebody told me that running is 20% physical and 80% mental. I feel that if I'm running six miles, that sixth mile is the hardest. If I'm doing eight miles, the eighth mile is the hardest. I don't know - it's this weird thing," he explained.
