The 'Cowboy Casanova' star married NHL player Fisher in a ceremony at the Ritz-Carlton, Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, GA in July.
"Mike's the missing piece to my puzzle - he's a few pieces... He makes me a better person," she told the new issue of People Country.
She reportedly added that the pair are currently happy to split their time between her home in Nashville and Fisher's property in Ottawa, where he is based with his Ottawa Senators hockey team.
The 27-year-old - who was introduced to Fisher through mutual friends - recently said that married life is "great" but insisted that the couple are happy to wait before extending their family because they want to focus on their careers.
"First it's like, 'When are you getting married?' and then it's, 'When are you having babies?'" she said. "Once again, we are very focused people and we love what we do. There will be a time for that and I think we'll know when it gets here but it's not here yet!"
Underwood will co-host the upcoming Country Music Association Awards, which will air live on November 10 at 8/7c on ABC.
