Lewis 'hospitalised after hit-and-run'

Juliette Lewis has been hospitalised after being injured in a hit-and-run accident.

The actress was returning from a publicity appearance in Burbank, CA when the car she was travelling in was hit by a driver who then fled the scene, reports US Weekly.

"[She] was leaving an event for her new film Conviction last night when the town car driving her home was broadsided by a hit-and-run driver," her rep said.

"The [Honda] Sedan Juliette was travelling in was completely totalled. Ms Lewis went to the hospital to be checked out and is a bit banged-up and sore, but otherwise thankfully okay. She is now resting at home."

The suspected Honda involved in the accident was found abandoned several blocks from the incident.
