John Cleese: 'I was naive about divorce'
Published Thursday, Oct 7 2010, 22:47 BST | By Naomi Rainey

Last year, Cleese and his third wife Alyce Faye divorced, resulting in the former Monty Python comic paying an £8 million financial settlement to his partner of 15 years.
A a result, he toured with a solo comedy show last year in order to fund the additional £612,000 monthly payments awarded to Faye.
Speaking on Daybreak, Cleese said that he had not expected the split to have a significant financial impact on his life.
He explained: "There's a very naive side to me. I don't plot a great deal, I don't plot or plan... My ex-wife and I were in therapy for quite a long time, two or three years, so it wasn't a surprise we were having problems.
"When we split up, I thought it was going to be as easy and painless as it was the first two times with Connie [Booth] and with Barbara [Trentham]."
However, Cleese added that he would consider marrying again, but not in the near future.
He joked: "Not until it would cease to shock and alarm my friends, who've formed a little gang who say they're coming to kneecap [me] if I mention the word."
