Gwyneth Paltrow has denied rumours that she wants to return to the US because she hates living in the UK.

Recent reports claimed that the actress had tried to convince husband Chris Martin that setting up home in Los Angeles was a good idea.

Paltrow has now told the Daily Star, "I love living in the UK. Brits are far more intelligent and civilised than Americans."

Despite this, Gwyneth admitted that she does often feel homesick for life back in America.

"I went through a period when I didn't like LA so much but now I have a child I really love it again," she said. "Maybe it's connecting me to my own childhood. I always think that when you're in the place you were born, you sleep better. You have this deep sense of feeling at home."
