Mischa Barton: 'I try to be a happy person'

The 24-year-old former OC actress, who checked into a psychiatric hospital last year, said that she tries to be a happy person as much as she can.
"As much as I get down, I'm an upbeat person," Us Magazine quotes Barton as saying. "People always think of me as kind of a light in a room. I love to make people laugh."
Barton also revealed that she uses music and literature to control her emotions.
