Christina Aguilera files for divorce

Christina Aguilera has reportedly filed for divorce from her music marketer husband.

News broke on Tuesday that Aguilera and partner Jordan Bratman have been separated for a few months.

A rep for the popstar confirmed the move to Gossip Cop today. The divorce documents apparently list the existence of a prenuptial agreement and reveal the date of separation as September 11.

The divorce petition asks that "earnings and accumulations of [Aguilera] before marriage, during marriage and from and after the date of separation" be considered separate property.

Aguilera, who is represented by Laura Wasser, is thought to be seeking joint physical and legal custody of their child Max, 2.

The pair met in 2002 and married in 2005.
