Sinead O'Connor disappears from TV show

Singer Sinead O'Connor went AWOL from an Irish television show she was due to appear on.

The Nothing Compares hitmaker was scheduled to appear on The Courtney Show, recorded last week, but after turning up to film she disappeared half way through.

Apparently the star went to the toilet and never came back, although it's unclear how she made it past security without being spotted.

She had meant to star in a few sketches with the show's host, Brendan Courtney, including a blind-date style one where O'Connor would unknowingly pick a man from Monkstown. This was based on a comment that Sinead had once made, that there were no good looking men in Monkstown.

Also appearing on the show were Vinnie Jones and ex-Big Brother star Anthony Hutton. At the last minute another ex-Big Brother contestant - Anna Nolan - was brought in to replace O'Connor.
