Actress Kim Novak has reportedly been diagnosed with breast cancer.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the star of Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo is currently undergoing treatment.

"It was caught early by a routine yearly mammogram… All her doctors say she is in fantastic physical shape and should recover very well," said Novak's manager Sue Carmon.

The 77-year-old is also known for starring in the films Pal Joey, Picnic and Bell, Book and Candle.

Novak was honoured by the American Cinematheque in August.

She currently lives with her husband Dr Robert Malloy in Oregon.
