The actress - who plays Bella Swan in the vampire franchise - is scheduled to begin filming scenes for the two-part Breaking Dawn in the Southern state next month.
During an appearance on Live With Regis & Kelly yesterday, the 20-year-old said that she felt comfortable being in Louisiana because she had worked on previous movies there, including her recent release Welcome To The Rileys.
"I feel very at home there; I think mostly tied to this experience on Welcome To The Rileys, but I [also just] shot On The Road There," she explained. "Every time I go back [I feel like I'm at home]."
She continued to say that she would be shooting for "six or seven months" on Breaking Dawn, starting in November and ending around May. "I've never worked on something for that long," she said. "The thing about that though is by the end of a movie I usually feel like I don't want to let it go anyway so this will just be... I can't imagine it will be different."
Stewart also spoke about working with James Gandolfini on Welcome To The Rileys, revealing that the movie's director Jake Scott had suggested they adopt a relationship based on Mowgli and Baloo in The Jungle Book.
Welcome To The Rileys is released November 5.
