Hundreds expected at Wisdom funeral

Sir Norman Wisdom’s funeral will be held today on the Isle on Man.

The cortege will pass along the promenade in the town of Douglas, where hundreds of people are expected to gather.

The general public, friends and family will pay their respects to Sir Norman at St. George’s Church in the town, but the burial will be closed to the public and press.

A spokesman said: "Sir Norman's immediate family have specifically requested that the subsequent burial itself be a completely personal affair, enabling them to mourn in private."

The comedy veteran passed away at the age of 95 on October 4.
