According to The AP, Ono presented the tribute to the press outside of the home that she and Lennon once shared in London.
She stated that she was "honoured" that the late Beatle's legacy would be permanently immortalised as part of a series of public markings of the houses of famous Londoners.
The 34 Montagu Square dwelling was the site of Lennon and Ono's legendary nude photo shoot for the album cover of their controversial 1968 LP Two Virgins.
Before Lennon purchased the house, it had previously been owned by Ringo Starr and was rented to Jimi Hendrix and Paul McCartney at different times.
Lennon was the subject of tributes by Ono and the Jonas Brothers in early October in commemoration of what would have been his 70th birthday.
