Coronation Street star Jane Danson is expecting her first child with husband Robert Beck.
The star, who plays Leanne Battersby in the show, is three months pregnant, ITV bosses have said.
She and Robert Beck, who played heartthrob Peter Harrison on Brookside in the early nineties. were married last month. When the couple revealed their engagement Danson admitted to having had a huge crush on Robert - she even had a picture of the star on her pencil-case at school.
The pair are said to be "ecstatic" at the news. "Robert and her are extremely happy," a spokeswoman for Coronation Street said.
