People reports that the Paula's Party host will lead the annual event in Pasadena and also oversee the coin toss at the Rose Bowl football game on New Year's Day.
Deen expressed excitement to be involved in the prestigious holiday celebration.
"My whole family has watched it on TV for years," she said. "My sons are very impressed that I was chosen. It only took me 40 years to impress them, but I've finally done it."
The star continued "I'm living the dream, honey. Actually, no. I never thought this would happen in my wildest dreams, because I just don't have that kind of imagination!"
Deen further explained that she first learned of the honour while she was relaxing in her Savannah home.
"Someone delivered a big, beautiful arrangement of white roses and I said, 'This has to be some sort of mistake. Who would be sending me roses'? And then I learned that I had been chosen, and I was thrilled."
The TV host concluded that while she is nervous about hosting the celebration, she will have no problem expressing her feelings about the Rose Parade on the day of the event.
"I'll find my tongue long before the parade. You can't keep me quiet for long," Deen joked.
