Arquette: 'Talking about split helps others'

David Arquette has suggested that talking openly about his split from wife Courteney Cox can help others who are going through marriage troubles.

In an interview with The AP, the Scream 4 actor stated that couples thinking about divorce may be able to learn from he and his wife's mistakes.

"A lot of people are going through stuff like that, and it just helps to kind of hear a celebrity that's experiencing the same kind of things," he said.

The star further explained that he does not regret speaking candidly about the separation on The Howard Stern Show, but added that he will choose his words more wisely in the future.

He remarked: "I love Howard Stern… I think he's the most honest journalist out there... He's been so supportive of me and defended me... I didn't want to let him down.

"I know I probably offend some people. I have been talking a little too much so I'm trying not to talk as much."

Arquette also revealed that he plans to spend Halloween with he and Cox's 6-year-old daughter CoCo, who he says will be dressing up as a bumblebee for the holiday.
