Gibson loses bid to see daughter on birthday

Mel Gibson has reportedly lost a legal bid to spend time with his baby daughter Lucia on her first birthday tomorrow.

According to TMZ, Lucia is with the actor today but she will go home to her mother Oksana Grigorieva tonight, as per their custody agreement.

However, Gibson apparently asked a judge for permission to keep Lucia with him until Saturday, claiming that the nanny who had been hired to return the baby to Grigorieva was sick.

The judge denied the request after Grigorieva's legal team argued that he had another nanny who could return the child.
