Michael Douglas 'still visits jailed son'

Michael Douglas is still visiting his son Cameron in prison, despite his current ill health.

The actor, who recently completed a course of chemotherapy after being diagnosed with stage four throat cancer, has continued to travel to visit the 31-year-old, who is undergoing a five-year sentence for drug possession and dealing.

Douglas's representative Allen Burry told E! Online: "[Michael] is visiting with him as often as he can.

"He's not going every day and not as often as he would like, but he is still visiting with him."

Burry said that the three-hour trip from Manhattan to Lewisburg, PA, where Cameron is currently serving his sentence, is draining for Michael as he is "recuperating from the [chemotherapy] process".

The spokesman said of Michael's current condition: "Obviously he has to recuperate and is not going to be out dancing soon, but he is recovering nicely and no more [treatments] are scheduled."
