More than 900 hopefuls are expected to audition for the composer on Monday in Melbourne and Sydney, with the roles of the Phantom and Christine up for grabs.
Lloyd Webber told AAP on Friday: "The girl we select for Christine has to be able to really, really sing in this one and of course the Phantom has to have that authority and charisma."
He also revealed that the parts should be confirmed for the $10 million production before Christmas and that if the Australian version is successful, it may form the basis for a possible American run in New York.
Love Never Dies premiered in London on March 9.
