Lily Allen suffers second miscarriage

Lily Allen has suffered a second miscarriage, it has been confirmed.

The singer, who announced that she was expecting a baby with boyfriend Sam Cooper in August, was rushed to hospital on Thursday morning after experiencing stomach pains, The Sun reports.

However, efforts to save the 25-year-old's child failed over the weekend.

"It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Lily Allen and Sam Cooper have lost their baby," a spokesperson said. "The couple ask that their privacy be respected and that they be left alone at this deeply distressing time. No further comment will be made."

Allen lost her child with Chemical Brothers star Ed Simons in January 2008.
