Knoxville 'credits family with success'

Johnny Knoxville has stated that his family is responsible for making him famous.

The 39-year-old rose to fame on MTV prank show Jackass, an idea born out of the need to provide for his pregnant girlfriend as he struggled to make it as an actor in Los Angeles.

"The biggest thing that got me doing anything was the birth of my daughter, [Madison]," he told WENN. "I was waiting tables and my girlfriend, who became my wife... who became my ex-wife... was pregnant, and I was like, 'Oh f**k, I really need to do something. I've just been, like, drinking and partying the whole time here'."

As well as 13-year-old Madison, Knoxville also has 10-month-old son Rocko with second wife Naomi Nelson.
