The chef, who is in the US to film Kitchen Nightmares, met with his wife to discuss the fallout which occurred when Gordon fired her father Chris Hutcheson as CEO of his company.
Tana was allegedly asked to choose between her husband and parents, leading Gordon to write an open letter to his mother-in-law, published in the London Evening Standard.
A friend told the News of the World: "It's no exaggeration to say these were crisis talks. Tana is close to breaking point. Events like these just can't be discussed on the phone.
"Tana has basically lost her family in this terrible row and wanted to know 1,000 per cent that her husband is still there for her. She was horrified by Gordon's open letter, which was a blatant challenge to her family. Yet she does still love him very much."
The friend added that things are now "back on track" following the meeting.
