Pete Doherty's former bandmate Gary Powell wants the star to learn from his time in jail.
Powell, who played drums in Doherty's old band The Libertines, has admitted that he is worried about his friend.
"He's not got a death wish, although it could go either way," he told the Daily Record.
"Prison isn't like sitting on the isle of Guernsey in a deckchair drinking cocktails. It's extremely intense. All we can do is wish him the best and hope that a ray of light will come out of it."
