Rachel Stevens gives birth to baby girl

Former S Club 7 popstar Rachel Stevens has given birth to her first child.

The singer and former Strictly Come Dancing contestant and her husband Alex Bourne welcomed daughter Amelie in the early hours of this morning at London's Portland Hospital.

Stevens's publicist said in a statement: "Rachel Stevens and Alex Bourne are delighted to announce the birth of their daughter Amelie. She arrived this morning at 2.05am; mother and baby are both doing really well."

Bourne and Stevens wed last summer in a ceremony held at Claridge's in London.
