Mel Gibson's ex 'feared for her life'

Oksana Grigorieva has admitted why she decided to tape Mel Gibson's threatening rants.

Speaking to Larry King on his CNN chatshow, Grigorieva said that she recorded the actor because she feared for her life and wanted her mother to have proof of his violent temper.

"I started taping it around 11 o'clock because I thought I'm actually not going to live through the night," she told King in an interview scheduled to air on Tuesday night, reports TMZ.

She added: "I wanted my mother to be able to prove that if I'm dead that this is who did it."

The Russian singer, who previously claimed that Gibson was guilty of domestic violence against her and has been involved with him in a bitter custody dispute over their baby daughter, also revealed that Gibson never drank alcohol around her.

"There was no liquor, not once. He never drunk. I mean, one time he drunk when he was away. That's the only time he drunk. I've never ever seen him drinking," she added.

Grigorieva further claimed that Gibson needed to be on medication "for the sake of our daughter".
