The Kendra star chose to return to the West Coast with son Hank Baskett IV earlier this year while husband Hank Baskett relocated to Minnesota to play for the Vikings.
The reality star, who recently said she felt like a "single parent" because the couple currently live apart, told Lopez Tonight that it "didn't make sense" for her to move to Minnesota with Baskett because they "would have had to find a whole new house, doctors, everything".
"Coming here was a better decision," she added.
When asked if the separation was difficult, she replied: "It's pretty hard but what keeps us going is thinking about what the military families have to go through. We love to get to know each other all over again through the phone and that's what we do."
Lopez then quizzed if they might use the computer to keep their romance alive, to which she replied: "Why not? We're grown people! We're married! Why not?!"
Wilkinson previously said that while it had been "fun" experiencing new cities as she travelled with Baskett she now felt it was time for her to "start building a home" in one place.
Kendra airs on Sunday nights on E! in the US and premieres on November 21 on E! in the UK.
