Aguilera: 'Cher and I were chatty friends'

Christina Aguilera has revealed that she became close friends with her Burlesque co-star Cher.

The singer and actress, who recently filed for divorce from husband of five years Jordan Bratman, told People that the pair talked through the pressures of relationships.

Aguilera said that Cher advised her: "You know, honey, husbands come and go, but I am still Cher at the end of the day."

The 29-year-old explained: "We were like old chatty girlfriends that could not stop talking. They had to drag us to set a few times because we were late just talking about love and relationships and life."

Aguilera added that she hopes that balancing childhood and a career will inspire her son Max. She said: "One day he will be able to look back at my body of work and feel proud of it.

"Hopefully it will motivate him to be an individual himself and really go for what he wants out of life."
