The rapper, real name Earl Simmons, was ordered by an Arizona judge to remain in jail on charges that he violated his probation.
The 39-year-old was arrested last week. He was accused of using cocaine and Oxycontin, as well as failing to take drug tests and appear at counselling sessions required by the terms of his probation.
DMX was also charged with driving with a suspended licence, reports Reuters.
The hip-hop star denied all of the allegations during his hearing. He is due back in court for another hearing on December 9.
