Billy Joel 'doing well after hip surgery'

Billy Joel is said to be recovering well after undergoing optional surgery for a congenital hip problem.

The singer had the procedure on both hips last week and has been recuperating at home, reports People.

"Billy Joel is doing extremely well following bilateral hip replacement," said his rep Claire Mercuri.
