Kerry Katona has said that her drugs addiction 'nearly killed her', and that leaving her ex-husband Mark Croft saved her life.

The ex-Atomic Kitten singer discussed her drugs addiction in a documentary called Kerry Katona: Coming Clean, to be screened on ITV2.

In the feature, she reveals to the cameras: "'If I'd stayed with Mark I would have been dead.

"The next time you'd have seen me would have been at my funeral."

30-year-old Katona explains how she can't remember chunks of her four children's lives because she was too under the influence of cocaine.

Discussing her marriage to former cab driver Croft, Katona claims she stayed with him "for so long" because she was worried he would reveal her addiction to the press.

She says that she would increase her drugs intake in a bid to get her ex-husband to tell her to stop, but this method proved ineffective.

Amid reports that the former singer is bankrupt, Katona claimed that she didn't know how the couple spent millions of pounds, and still doesn't.

She also expressed her excitement about competing in the reality competition Dancing On Ice in the new year.
