Aguilera was 'unhappy' in marriage

Christina Aguilera has spoken out about why she filed for divorce from Jordan Bratman last October.

Speaking to People, the popstar said that she and her former husband were not happy together.

"Things were so unhealthy and unhappy for both Jordan and me, I knew I had to end it," the Burlesque star explained.

Aguilera and Bratman have a 2-year-old son, Max, together.

She added: "When you're unhappy in your marriage, your children are the ones who suffer. That's the last thing I wanted for my son."
