A Valentine dance invitation accepted by Jerry Springer was revoked by school administrators, says The AP.

Sarasota High School cheerleaders had asked Springer to headline their 'Hollywood Nights' dance on Saturday, but the invitation was withdrawn only days before the party.

Principal Jeff Hradeck stated: "It's not the way we want to go for the school," adding that Springer was not a suitable role model for students.

Detective Karen Hicks, a cheerleading sponsor, said: "It wasn't (based) on who does this show or who does that show or is this a good person or is this person a bad person.".
