The Australia's Next Top Model star, who reached the final of the last season of the reality television show, has been chosen with former Miss Universe Australia Rachael Finch to replace Lara Bingle as the swimwear brand's representatives.
Van Den Akker told The Daily Telegraph: "Being chosen to represent such an iconic Australian brand is a great honour. I grew up wearing Speedo swimwear as I'm sure most Australians did, and I never imagined I would one day get to model in their campaigns."
Speedo's marketing manager Tiffany Scott added: "We love Sophie's high-fashion look."
