The E! reality star uprooted over the past year with the couple's young son Hank Baskett IV as the footballer was transferred between teams.
Speaking to Digital Spy about the new season of Kendra, she said that she was happy to have supported Baskett's career but realised it might have been better for their family if she had remained in California to create a home.
"I should have stayed back in LA at the beginning and found a home... That's what I should have done, but it wasn't done, so [this season is about] how we are going to deal with being apart and stuff like that," she explained.
The former Girls Next Door star went on to describe the new season as "dramatic... with a lot of heart and real drama", saying that people would relate to the story.
"It's very empowering because I did open the doors and I did want to show people what it's really like to be an NFL wife," she said.
"These moves aren't just picking up a carry-on bag - they are full-on moves. I'm talking me going through clothes, having to put things in boxes and, on top of that, having to deal with the baby without a nanny."
She added: "It's so much work but I opened the door to the cameras to film that reality."
Kendra premieres Sundays at 10pm only on E! Entertainment Television.
