Fonda announced last month that she recently underwent a medical procedure to remove a cancerous tumour and is now free of the disease.
During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the two-time Oscar winner suggested that she now feels connected with survivors of the illness.
"When [doctors] say, 'You've got cancer' there's that moment of scary," she said. "And then I felt like I've just become a part of a huge family of women - survivors of breast cancer."
She added: "I'm really lucky."
