John Edwards to attend Elizabeth funeral

John Edwards has reportedly been invited to attend the funeral of his estranged wife Elizabeth.

According to Pop Eater, the services for Elizabeth - who separated from the former Democratic presidential candidate in January amidst a cheating scandal - will include John as she "never stopped loving him" despite their difficulties.

"Elizabeth would want it this way. She hated what John did but never stopped loving him," a source said.

"She died in the home she built with John, surrounded by loving memories of their time together and at peace."

John is also said to be planning to set up a foundation in his late wife's honour.

"He will never forgive himself for what he did to her and she will remain in his heart for the rest of his life," the insider explained.

"We were all praying for a miracle. But now realise Elizabeth was our miracle. Just having her in all our lives was the best gift of all. She will never be forgotten."

Elizabeth Edwards died last Tuesday after a long battle with cancer.
