College gets Ray Charles' tour bus
Published Sunday, Feb 19 2006, 01:41 GMT | By Dave West

The vehicle – which boasts a kitchen and four TVs - has been given to an arts college for black men. Charles and his manager Joe Adams both donated $1m to Atlanta's Morehouse College to help build a performing arts centre.
The 35-seater luxury bus will now be used for student trips.
"This is a fitting symbol to illustrate the relationship that Ray had with Morehouse," said college president Walter Massey. "The Performing Arts Centre, which will be named for Ray, as well as the symbolism of the bus, will inspire our students.
"This is where Ray would have wanted to be. It served us well and now we want it to serve the wonderful students at Morehouse College."
Charles received an honorary scholarship from the college in 2001. He died from acute liver disease in 2004.
