Midler: 'GaGa can't compete with Jones'

Bette Midler has said that Lady GaGa cannot compete with the iconic reputation of Grace Jones.

The singer and actress told Hello magazine that she is a fan of GaGa's music, but does not buy into the eccentric persona that the performer has tried to build.

Midler explained: "[GaGa]'s a terrific player, has a beautiful voice and is a good songwriter. The stuff around her? Nah, not so much.

"I have my heroines and one of them is Grace Jones, and I don't think anyone could touch Grace."
