E! Online reports that the 80-year-old faced a slew of charges including reckless endangerment, criminal trespass and the illegal carrying of a firearm.
The actor was found drunk and with a gun inside a Litchfield Bancorp branch in Salisbury, CT earlier this year. While burglary charges were dropped, the Emmy winner still chose to plead not guilty.
His change of heart came on Tuesday and he has now been handed a two-and-a-half year suspended jail sentence and three years probation. He will also be subject to random alcohol and drug tests, as well as banned from possessing a firearm.
It has been reported that Torn will reprise his role as Zed in Men in Black 3, alongside Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones and Flight of the Conchords star Jermaine Clement, who will play the new villain.
